Men are at greater risk of heart disease than women: 4 out of 5 people who die of heart disease before the age of 65 are men. Some of the ways men can reduce their risk of heart disease are to stay strong, keep fit, eat well, lose weight and stop smoking.

Anyone can create a team for Push4Men when registering as a participant. After you have filled-in your personal details you have a choice to create your own team or join a team. To join a public team simply click on the "Join Us" button on the teams fundraising page. If a team is set to 'private' usually the team captain will send out an invitation to join that team or you will need to ask the team captain to send you an invite.

Do I have to do 40 push-ups a day for 10 Days?

add remove

No there are several options to suit your level. You can do 40 push-ups over 10 days, form a team to help you, or modify your push-up to a half push-up or something you feel comfortable with. This is the ‘Have-a-go-hero’ goal, 40 push-ups. You might also elect to do 40 push-ups a day for 10 days (Living Legend, 400 push-ups). If you are in a team then everyone in the team can do 40 push-ups each or you can elect to spread 40 push-ups over the group Looking for a bigger challenge? Do 2 or 3 sets of 40 push-ups for 10 days (Men’s Health Warrior 400+). Make it a one-armed push-up or harder.

If I can’t do a full Push-Up can I still take part?

add remove

Yes. You can adapt your push-up to suit your level. See ‘Have-a-go-hero’. You can also make a donation or donate to another team or individual.

If I am in a team does the team do 40 push-ups collectively or does each team member have to do 40 push-ups?

add remove

The idea is that people do 40 push-ups each over 10 days if they can manage the challenge. If this becomes too difficult, they can elect to share the load with teammates.

Can I just donate to Men’s Health? How can I do that?

add remove

Yes, you can donate to an individual or team taking part in Push4Men and the funds will support work to improve men’s health through the Australian Men’s Health Forum (AMHF).

If you would like to donate directly to AMHF, you can do so here.
